We Remember: Pearl Harbor
originally published on December 7, 2020
We remember how, on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941, without warning or provocation, Japan attacked Naval Station Pearl Harbor in the U.S. Territory of Hawaii. This dastardly, sneak attack killed over 2400 Americans and injured over 1100 others. Four battleships were sunk and 188 aircraft destroyed. Many other ships and aircraft were damaged.
As one Senator remarked, the only thing left to do was to “lick hell out of the Japs,” and thanks to the courage and sacrifice of that generation of Americans, we did.
We remember.
