Welcome to Planet Earth

Hello all, and welcome to this project, the Planet Earth blog. This is a WordPress-powered web log in which I shall attempt to write on a regular basis concerning subjects of topical importance and other insights that occur from time to time. The subjects will probably range from spiritual (Catholic), to technical (web development), to merely trivial and more, all jumbled together in no particular order.

Although the back end of this blog is powered by WordPress, I am not using the active WP theme to display content but instead utilizing its powerful API to pull data into my site and display it within my site’s template.

At the outset, you, the reader, can view my latest post on the home page as well as on that day’s entry in the calendar. All past posts will be accessible from the calendar. But since this will not provide an efficient interface for viewing all posts — let alone filtering by category or searching for content — I am planning a dedicated Planet Earth blog page to quickly filter, search, and view all posts.

I hope that within the topics covered you will find something of interest and value to entertain.
