2021

It arrived on time. This morning at midnight, a new year was born. Old 2020 packed it in and said goodnight while a fresh new 2021 said good morning.
We were in Assumption Chapel, the air thick with incense, praying in the new year in front of the Blessed Sacrament surrounded by holy priests and nuns and the good people of St. Marys. I took a brief look at the families around us and again marveled at this place.
We attended a low mass for today’s feast and afterward came outside to a winter wonderland of swirling snow and brisk air — God’s new year’s gift to St. Marys. We didn’t have a white Christmas, but we sure had a white New Years!
